Car Leasing with Maintenance

Packages vary, so check exactly what is covered. They commonly include routine servicing, and many also cover tyres, brake wear and breakdown assistance. Anything outside the package, and damage beyond fair wear and tear, is still your responsibility.

Because the car is new, it is also under the manufacturer's warranty for much of the term, so a package is mostly about servicing and wear items rather than major repairs.

It suits businesses that don't want to organise workshop visits and pay for each repair, and company car drivers who would rather have one fixed monthly cost. It makes budgeting easier, because servicing costs are spread across the term instead of arriving as separate bills.

A package increases your monthly rental, and you pay for it whether or not you use every element. It tends to pay off if you would otherwise use main dealer servicing and cover plenty of miles, and less so if you do low mileage. Compare the extra monthly cost with what servicing and tyres would cost you directly.

The VAT and tax treatment of the maintenance element can differ from the rental itself, so check with your accountant.
