Benefit in kind (BiK) tax

Electric cars usually attract much less benefit in kind tax than petrol or diesel cars, which can make a real difference to a company car driver's monthly cost. The exact amount depends on the car's list price and your income tax band, and rates are set by HMRC and change over time. Please check the current rates on the HMRC website or ask your accountant. Range and charging

Official range figures vary with the battery and version, and real-world range will usually be lower, particularly in cold weather and at motorway speeds. If you can charge at home or at work, you can start most days with a full battery. For longer trips, use public rapid chargers. Check the manufacturer's current range figure for the exact version you are considering.

Family use
