VW ID. Buzz Cargo Lease Deals
The ID. Buzz Cargo is Volkswagen's all-electric van, with the retro looks of the original Bulli and a modern electric drivetrain. You can lease one from £335 a month ex VAT (24-month term, 5,000 miles a year, 12 monthly payments up front). See our wider electric leasing range for other electric options.
Why choose the ID. Buzz Cargo?
- Zero tailpipe emissions. Useful for businesses that work in cities and want to cut their running costs and their impact.
- Quiet and smooth to drive. Good for early starts, late deliveries and urban work.
- A van that gets noticed. For some businesses, a distinctive van is a rolling advert.
Range
Range is the first question for any electric van. The official figure is a guide, and real-world range will be lower in cold weather, at motorway speeds and with a full load. Think about your normal working day, not your longest one. If your van returns to base each night, you can charge it at your depot or home and start every day full. Check the manufacturer's current range figure for the version you choose.
Payload
The ID. Buzz Cargo is a medium-sized van, so it suits lighter loads, tools and equipment better than heavy materials. Payload depends on the version, so check it against what you carry before you commit. For heavier work, a larger van such as the Crafter may fit better.
ULEZ and zero-emission zones
Electric vans are exempt from the ULEZ charge in London and are well placed for the zero-emission zones that some cities are introducing. Rules vary by area, so check those that apply where you work.
Business and tax benefits
- VAT. A VAT-registered business can usually reclaim the VAT on rentals for a van used for business purposes. Check with your accountant.
- Tax treatment. Electric vans are often treated more favourably than diesel for company tax. The rules change, so check the current position with HMRC or your accountant.
- No fuel bills. You pay for electricity instead, which can be cheaper per mile, particularly if you charge off-peak.
